Police dispatchers received information that the bank was being robbed by a subject wearing a mask and dark clothing. A responding officer observed the suspect vehicle driving away from the bank and a short pursuit occurred along Dowe Avenue. The passenger jumped out of the getaway car with a handgun and began shooting at the officer subsequently striking the officer s police cruiser. The officer returned fire but the suspect fled on foot into the rear yard of a nearby residence. The driver was immediately taken into custody and identified as Anthony Lee Pabros 26 years old of Fremont CA. Pabros was arrested for robbery and conspiracy and booked at Santa Rita Jail. Pabros appeared in court on January 19 2011 at 2pm and was remanded into custody. Pabros was charged with four counts of robbery with a gun and one count of assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) on a police officer. Pabros s bail was set at one million dollars. On January 20 2011 the body of the suspect located in the backyard of the 2700 block of Dowe Avenue was positively identified as Francis C. Buhay DOB: 06/05/1974 of Sunnyvale CA. Investigators believe that Buhay died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Buhay has previously been arrested and federally convicted for robbery in 1999.
