Prior to being the Shoreland Outreach Coordinator she worked in the compliance section of the Wetlands Bureau. She holds a degree in Environmental Conservation. Arlene also sits on her town s conservation commission and assists the planning and zoning board of adjustment. Jennifer Czysz Senior Planner NH Office of Energy and Planning 57 Regional Drive Concord NH 03301-8519 Telephone:(603) 271-2155 E-Mail: jennifer.czysz@nh.gov Jennifer is a 2001 graduate of MIT s Department of Urban Studies and Planning with a Masters in City Planning and a Certificate in Urban Design. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Norwich University and from 1996 to 1998 she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guinea West Africa in the areas of public health education and community development. She also worked as an architectural designer for a small firm in Boston MA prior to joining Southern NH Planning Commission as a regional planner focusing on housing natural hazard mitigation emergency management planning and local land use planning. In 2006 Jennifer joined the Office of Energy and Planning as a Senior Planner. Charlie French Community and Economic Development Specialist UNH Cooperative Extension 56 College Road James Hall Durham NH 03824 Telephone: (603) 862-0316 E-Mail: charlie.french@unh.edu As a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Panama (1995 -1997) Charlie taught conservation and sustainable agriculture techniques to school-age youth and to subsistence farmers. Subsequent to the Peace Corps he served as an Economic Development Educator for the University of Illinois Extension. Currently as a Community and Economic Development Specialist for UNH Cooperative Extension Charlie provides municipalities with planning assistance in the areas of land use recreation tourism community development and economic development. He also brings his applied experience into the classroom as a faculty member in the Department of Resource Economics where he teaches courses in community and economic development. Benjamin Frost AICP Housing Awareness Coordinator NH Housing Finance Authority 32 Constitution Drive Bedford NH 03110 Telephone: (603) 310-9361 E-Mail: bfrost@nhhfa.org Ben is the coordinator of the Housing Awareness Program at New Hampshire Housing. His work includes assisting local and 1 regional workforce housing coalitions statewide and developing and delivering programs to increase public and business community involvement in promoting the development of affordable housing. Previously he was employed as a Senior Planner with the NH Office of Energy and Planning as the Executive Director of the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission (NH/VT) and as a planner and administrator in local and regional government in several states throughout the region. He is on the faculty of Southern NH University and NH Community Technical College/Stratham teaching Business Law and Geography. Ben is an attorney admitted to practice in New Hampshire and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He serves on the executive boards of the New Hampshire Municipal Lawyers Association and both the New Hampshire Planners Association and the Northern New England Chapter of the American Planning Association. Ben is a graduate of Colgate University (B.A. Geography) Syracuse University (M.A. Geography) and Cornell Law School (J.D. Business Law and Regulation/Public Administration). He is presently working toward a Ph.D. in Community Economic Development at Southern New Hampshire University with a focus on the impact of local regulation on housing affordability. He lives in Milford New Hampshire where he serves on the planning board. Michele Gagne Training and Planning Coordinator UNH Cooperative Extension 56 College Road James Hall Durham NH 03824 Telephone: (603) 862-5046 E-Mail: michele.gagne@unh.edu Michele joined UNH Cooperative Extension in 1998 to provide statewide program coordination for the Teen Assessment Project (TAP). She assisted in supporting the goals and objectives of the project wrote and edited research and grant reports as well as the parent newsletter series managed evaluation activities associated with the project and provided technical expertise in coalition development and maintenance. Beginning in 2001 she joined the Strengthening NH Communities Initiative (SNHC) where she is providing statewide coordination evaluation and follow-up of the Community Profiles project linking students and faculty to applied community research
