Contents : Deirdre Rogers about: Glass artist Deirdre Rogers lets her materials speak for themselves. Her simple lines contrasting textures subtle colour and overall form are the main elements to her work. Using mostly sheet glass she adds colour with powder enamels using kiln-forming techniques such as fusing and slumping (bending the glass). The simplicity and quality of Scandinavian design has greatly influenced her work. But she also finds inspiration closer to home from the natural land formations in the Burren Co Clare. This has led her to sometimes use slate with the glass. Deirdre produces interior exterior and architectural works for both corporate and private clients. She also designs and makes awards and presentation pieces. Her work is in the collection of the National Museum of Ireland The Crafts Council of Ireland and the Royal Dublin Society. In 2003 Deirdre was awarded Best Interior Design Product and Overall Winner at the Plan Expo Architect and Building Show in Dublin.
