Dear Sir: RE: Critical Privacy Issues re: Digital Rights Management Technology Thank you for bringing the matter of DRM's privacy implications to my attention. It is timely that you bring your concerns regarding the privacy impact of digital rights management technology to the attention of all privacy commissioners prior to any anticircumvention law being passed. I will consult with my colleagues on this issue in hopes that a strategy will be developed to examine and deal with this important matter. As you have focused your intervention with the federal Privacy Commissioner and appropriately so I will rely on her to provide the lead for any future efforts on my part. Given our resources and our other responsibilities we are unlikely to be able to spend much time on DRM but I would be willing to participate in a joint letter addressing the privacy impact.
