Brenda Balk Public Information Of cer Siloam Springs Police Department (479) 238-0973 ARSON ATTEMPTED MURDER AND TERRORISTIC THREATENING CHARGES FILED ! April 1 2010 Siloam Springs ARKANSAS---The Siloam Springs Police Department has arrested and charged thirty-seven year old Sherry L. Miller of Siloam Springs with arson attempted murder 1st degree terroristic threatening 1st degree and manufacturing a controlled substance (within 1000 feet of a school). ! At approximately 10:23 p.m. March 31 2010 the Siloam Springs Police and Fire Department were dispatched to 712 S. Mt. Olive where the owner Ellen Doshier (who was asleep at the time the re was started) awoke to the smell of smoke. After exiting her home the owner observed smoke coming from under the sub oor of the home and began extinguishing the re with a garden hose. The re was extinguished before it caused structural damage. ! The Fire Department determined the cause of the re to be arson when accelerant-soaked rags were located and removed from beneath the residence. Miller who lives next door to the Mt. Olive Street location was identi ed as a suspect based on previous statements and threats made to the owner. A search of Miller s residence revealed the items used to initiate the re may have originated from her home. Ten small marijuana plants were also found inside the residence. ! During an interview with investigators Miller admitted culpability in setting the re. Miller is currently being held in the Benton County Jail on $75 000.00 bond. ###
